For some reason, gasket material is hard to find. Years ago it was much more common for people to cut out their gaskets from gasket material like this. I had a problem with water leaking around the escutcheon on the hot and cold water knobs. The fiberglass tub is not perfectly flat where the water knobs are located. I needed gaskets that were about 2 inches in diameter with the center hole about 1 3/4 inches. I wasn't sure exactly how thick I needed it until it was cut and installed. The 1/8 inch thickness is ideal as you can add layers as needed to attain the needed thickness. I needed 2 gaskets for each of the escutcheons (Hot+cold+diverter for shower). The 3 sheets included in the package were more than ample for the gaskets needed. I am very pleased with the quality of the material and would purchase again in future if needed. It's probably not something you need to address regularly, but when you have a water leak in your home, it's very important to address it. This product gives you the material you need.I ordered this material to line a lathe 4 jaw chuck to hold a fine thread on the chamber end of a rifle barrel. It worked very well. I had tried some sort of masking tape, but that failed because the thread cut it easily which loosened its grip. I have used this neoprene since to hold other items in various work holding fixtures when I needed to also protect the finish or threads or other fine detail and this neoprene worked every time. I have used inner tube material in the past but that stuff is not as strong as neoprene. I also got the similar 1/8 inch neoprene and have used that in the same manner. The neoprene seems a darn good combination of toughness and surface "tackyness". I know from past work experience that neoprene can make a good gasket also. This order also showed up nice and quick so I'm quite happy.Easily cuttable with scissors. Nice thickness and pliable.This is a very high quality piece of material. It smells to high heaven but I put it in the sun nd weather for a week and it has dimensioned the smell but has had no effect on the piece itself .... it seems indestructible.I purchased this Rubber Sheet, Mesh (Textured) Finish, Black, 12x12-Inch by 1/16 Neoprene to serve as a protective layer between a 3D Printed PLA part and a vehicles finish. It was hard plastic and basically sounded like a dump truck driving through a nitroglycerin plant. This has good grip and a nice weight to prevent it from curling. Good price too. I will say that my 20W laser would NOT cut through 1/8" of this stuff. It barely scratched it. So for anyone looking to cut this with a laser. Id say you need atleast 40w.I'm using this to create tension in my heavy duty ceiling fan mount. It has held up well to the pressure.I used this product as a seal in my woodworking shop’s dust collection system. It was easy to use.
