This sprayer holds up better than most other sprayers which are all junk. The problem is the design is such that you need to screw the lid on so tight to stop it from leaking that it is very hard to get the lid off. The company says you will crush the o ring seal if you screw the lid on too tight but that is the only way to get it to stop leaking air. Even if you grease the seal with the grease they recommend it will still leak. We have made a wall mounted wooden device that you slide the handle in to unscrew the bottom which makes it easier to remove but you can not do this in the field. I own 10 Solo sprayers and this is the case with all of them and I have talked to other people who use these sprayers for their business and they all have the same problem. Solo desperately needs to redesign their seal so it is easy to open and close. I think they need a much larger diameter o ring that has a positive stop built into the lid so it can not possibly be over tightened. Or a quick connect fitting lid like an air hose has and it does not leak even under high pressure. I have started transitioning my sprayers to Sprayers Plus battery sprayers which do not require an air tight seal because they have an electric pump and will even work with the lid totally off. The verdict is still out on how long they will hold up, so far it is one year. It is essential that you always keep the battery on the charger when not in use as their instruction suggest or the batteries will fail.
