This shelf was for a specific space and the only one I found with the dimensions I needed, plus I wanted black and I wanted a rolling shelf unit. It was very easy to assemble. I am familiar with this type of assembled shelf as I have about 4 very heavy duty ones that are a lot larger. This narrow shelf is made with lighter weight steel, which I wasn't expecting. The shelves are not intended for very heavy things. The shelves are held up by a plastic ring that is assembled and clicks into the bars and then the shelf fits down over the plastic ring, the ring being about 1 inch wide. Compared to my other larger shelves, these are a lot less weighty. However, because I need this size, I intend to keep the shelves and I don't need them to support a ton of weight. The shelves are adjustable to the space you need because there are grooves on the poles where the plastic rings snap in place. They can also be removed and adjusted so it's pretty fool proof.It is very easy to assemble - all pieces fit nicely together and it all works. Some plastic sheeting is supplied to cover the shelf wire. I received mine in perfect condition - everything was tightly zip tied or in little plastic bags and packed with no damage at all, and came in a medium size box. The assembly instructions are adequate with drawings.
