I've owned a number of 3D printers over the years, but have mostly been printing with resin printers and haven't owned a filament printer in several years. I had a project that a FDM printer was a better choice for, so I went looking for inexpensive options, and this was the option that many people recommended for a low-price unit.The good: Once you get it assembled, calibrated, and your settings dialed in, it's a really good printer, especially for the price. The quality is at least as good as my last printer (Ultimaker III) which cost like 10x as much a few years ago.The bad: The assembly instructions are... lacking. They're very cursory, don't make you aware of the many gotchas you're likely to hit. Very minor things that aren't mentioned can cause problems. The first time I assembled the unit, I couldn't get the gantry level. After trying everything I found online, I just took it completely apart and re-assembled it, and the second time, it was level. I would strongly recommend watching some assembly videos before you start the process. Make yourself aware of the gotchas and potential problems and get more detailed information about how the unit goes together.The Okay: Be aware that this is a low-end unit. It doesn't have some of the quality-of-life features that more expensive units have, such as auto-plate leveling. None of these things will prevent you from getting excellent quality prints with a little effort, but do mean you'll probably invest more time and experience more frustration before getting good quality prints.The Bottom Line: It's a great unit for the price, but it's a kit that requires assembly from parts, and the instructions leave much to be desired. If you're not comfortable with DYI and experimentation, you might want to spend a little more on a unit that comes pre-assembled and has features like auto-plate-leveling. If you don't mind putting in the time and dealing with a little frustration, though, this is an absolutely great value.I had zero experience with 3D printers. This machine has such a huge following and so many videos available on YouTube for setting up and dialing it in. I had it up and running perfectly withing a couple hours. No problems from it yet. I upgraded the bed but otherwise it runs great stock.For a beginner printer this thing is awesome! I am new to the printing world and it was super easy to set up and start printing. Definitely would recommend! Well with the money!The printer itself is great, I am just starting out with 3D printing and through a lot of time and research I came to the conclusion that the Ender 3 v2 printer is the best start up printer. However, the support that ENOMAKER gives along with the printer is amazing. I scratched up the print bed pretty badly during setup and adjustments, and ENOMAKER was so fast to respond and sent out a replacement within 3 days.1/15/2022- I have, sadly, returned the printer. It was working great the first week or so but after that it was nothing but problems, which is the reason why I changed my rating from 5 to 3. It could have been just my printer being defective but it was still a lot of work just to get working okay-ish. It was still not worth it though. I still believe that it is a good starting printer, only if you get lucky on the one you get. It was sad but the experience is still memorable. I learned a lot from it.I would only recommend getting this printer if you have a friend that has the same printer as you because then you both can sit and troubleshoot it together.I bought this on a whim cause the price was right and I was interested In 3d printing. I also bought the cr touch at same time which makes level the bed easy. Out the box it worked well but with minor upgrades the prints are perfect I did bed spring Capricorn Boden tube metal extruder and printed a side mount spool holder and roller so it has a direct feed into extruder. I’ve also did firmware update and interface update which either the rc touch made fine tuning amazing. The only issues I’ve had with it were issue created by me and my inexperience or somthing I didn’t install correctlyAs a newbie to 3D printing I wanted a machine that would help me learn and this is the machine for that. If you want a plug and print machine this is not for you. If you want a machine you put together and learn from then look no further. With the help of a YouTube video (and a few rewind moments), I got this little printer up and running. Print quality is great for the price, better than I expected. There are some layer lines but that’s to be expected at this price point, and nothing that a little sanding can’t sort. There’s also mods that can be done which again are a great learning opportunity, I have way more understanding of how these printers work and therefore how to troubleshoot any issues than if I hadn’t gone this route.The only issue I foresee is the urge to buy another printer, and yes I’ll build that one too. Happy printing!I've owned six 3D printers to date, 3 of which are the Ender 3 V2. Why am I giving such a bad rating, when I use these in my printer farm? Because they're inexpensive and I know exactly how to fix them when they break. And they do break. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THESE TO SOMEONE WHO IS NOT UP TO EXPERIMENTING, TINKERING, AND REPAIRING. Quality control is atrocious. Customer support from the manufacturer (not necessarily the sellers) is horrendous. The assembly instructions give the impression that they were made to confuse you on purpose. It's so bad that it's almost funny! If you want a printer that is reliable and just prints with no worries, then you will need to spend about 4 times more than the price of an Ender 3 V2. Even if you get lucky and your Ender 3 V2 works on the first try, you will likely have problems in the near future. And when that time comes, I hope you have plenty of time to learn how to fix the problem. And the next problem. And the next one too. This is my honest review.
