Description
Teacher and recording artist Craig Duncan has penned yet another excellent solo collection for the violin student. These solos are well within the capabilities of the beginning violin student playing in first position. The compositions feature works by Bartok, Purcell, Haydn, von Gluck, Handel, Telemann, Corelli, Kabalevsky, Beethoven, Mozart, C.P.E. Bach, J.S. Bach, and Dandrieu. Keyboard accompaniment is included. These pieces are excellent for recitals or contests, and can be used to teach important techniques. A separate 26-page insert pull-out part is included for the piano.

I actually used this book as a private music teacher, and my student is playing steel pan (steel drum) and it's the same range as the violin. Great for a beginner with varying levels of skill needed. Piano parts are very simple that even this non-piano player can play. It's a great introduction to some basic repertoire.
